About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Business Intelligence Student for an 8-month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role provides you with a business-relevant project where you manage your own area of responsibility with support from a supervisor and a technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources like databases and spreadsheets.
- Develop and implement processes for data collection, cleansing, and validation to ensure accuracy.
- Build reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business stakeholders.
- Perform data analysis to find patterns, trends, and insights for decision-making.
- Monitor business performance metrics and KPIs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven recommendations and support ad-hoc requests.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies in business intelligence.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or an equivalent program.
- Completion of at least one more semester of education after the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to work in an environment where change happens frequently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A sense of urgency and a commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and work collaboratively.
- Valid residency or a work permit for Canada.
- A current transcript must be included with your application.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug test if required by the client.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
- Locations: Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Vancouver, BC; or Winnipeg, MB.
- Term: Fall 2026.
