About the role#
Bird Construction is hiring a Student Project Coordinator for a co-op term starting in January 2027. This position is based in Ottawa and lasts for 4 or 8 months. You will manage specific areas of responsibility while receiving guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and work for specific scopes and trades.
- Review trade quotes to verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks.
- Update deficiency logs, issue warranties, and manage progress photos.
- Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and coordinate sub-trade work.
- Verify site conditions and supervise sub-trade activities.
- Set up and maintain project record keeping.
- Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
- Create and update project schedules, including manual and graphical schedules.
- Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades and monitor manpower productivity.
