    About the role#

    Bird Construction is hiring a Student Project Coordinator for an 8-12 month co-op term starting in September 2026. This role is based in Kelowna, British Columbia. You will manage specific areas of responsibility while receiving guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor. The position is full-time and on-site.

    What you'll do#

    • Coordinate drawings and manage specific work scopes or trades.
    • Review trade quotes and verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
    • Participate in project meetings.
    • Conduct deficiency walks and maintain deficiency logs.
    • Issue warranties and manage progress photos.
    • Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
    • Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions.
    • Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate their schedules.
    • Set up and maintain project record keeping.
    • Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
    • Update project schedules and monitor manpower productivity.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
    • Residency or a valid work permit for Bird Construction.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
    • Submission of a current transcript with your application.
