About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for an 8-12 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role provides an opportunity to manage specific areas of responsibility on a current construction project while receiving guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and work for specific scopes and trades.
- Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks to update logs.
- Issue warranties, coordinate progress photos, and maintain field and as-built drawings.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions against drawings.
- Coordinate and supervise sub-trade work while maintaining project records.
- Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
- Update project schedules, monitor manpower productivity, and obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Residency or a valid work permit for Bird Construction.
- Ability to lead in a changing environment and work collaboratively.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.
- Potential requirement to successfully complete pre-employment medical or alcohol and drug testing based on client requirements.
