About the role#
Bird Construction is hiring a Student Project Coordinator for an 8-12 month co-op term starting in September 2026. This role is based in Kelowna, British Columbia. You will manage specific areas of responsibility while receiving guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor. The position is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and manage specific work scopes or trades.
- Review trade quotes and verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Conduct deficiency walks and maintain deficiency logs.
- Issue warranties and manage progress photos.
- Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions.
- Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate their schedules.
- Set up and maintain project record keeping.
- Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
- Update project schedules and monitor manpower productivity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
- Residency or a valid work permit for Bird Construction.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.
