About the role#
As a Platform Applications Engineer Intern, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software to support connectivity products in real-world deployments. You will build and maintain tools that help internal teams and customers integrate, debug, and use our products. This role involves working across software, systems, and silicon to solve technical challenges and improve validation processes.
What you'll do#
- Develop automation and maintain tools for product integration and debugging.
- Work in labs using specialized equipment to test and validate systems.
- Collaborate with customers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide feedback to design teams to influence product direction.
- Streamline validation and deployment workflows.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience in software development using C, C++, C#, or Python.
- Ability to work with semiconductor software and firmware, including C-language firmware development and Python scripting.
- Hands-on experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems.
- Fundamental knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, motherboards, and PCIe devices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a customer-first approach.
- Preferred: Experience with lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, or BERTs.
- Preferred: Familiarity with PCIe or Ethernet Switch or Retimer products, PCIe compliance testing, and Data Center systems like servers, JBOGs/JBODs, and networking switches.
