Co-op, Estimator

About the role#

Reporting to the Lead Estimator or Estimating Manager, the Co-op Estimator supports the delivery of accurate and timely cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, paid position for a work term beginning in Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

• Analyze project documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums to prepare for pricing.
• Research and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for inclusion in project estimates.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, RFP responses, and tender submissions.
• Attend site visits to support the estimate creation process.
• Collect data for key performance indicator reports and maintain project files.
• Coordinate scope changes and provide technical support to field staff.
• Ensure documentation is distributed appropriately upon project award.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Civil, Construction, Electrical, or Business diploma or degree program.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documents.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Project, and estimating software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of job cost fundamentals and basic accounting or reporting principles is considered an asset.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required.

• Work Modality: On-site
• Term: Summer 2026 (8, 12, or 16-month options available)
• Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour
