About the role#
Aecon is seeking Engineering Co-op students for the Civil West division. These site-based positions offer active involvement in heavy civil construction projects, providing exposure to project management, resource allocation, scheduling, and cost control.
What you'll do#
- Conduct site audits and analysis, providing daily, weekly, and monthly reports to project staff and stakeholders.
- Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with daily operational tasks.
- Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to maximize operational efficiency.
- Monitor project progress and assist in preparing job cost reports for management.
- Liaise with project staff and internal delegates regarding project schedules.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or technical college program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Beginner knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, building materials, and relevant project standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Prior experience in the construction industry is considered a strong asset.
