About the role#
Aecon is seeking Engineering Co-op students to join the Civil West division. These site-based positions offer exposure to the day-to-day management of heavy civil construction projects, including resource allocation, scheduling, and cost control. This role is designed to foster professional growth through active involvement in major infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Conduct site audits and analysis, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for project stakeholders.
- Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with daily operations.
- Perform quantity tracking, productivity analysis, and quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
- Provide technical support to field staff, craft, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, assist with job cost reporting, and contribute to month-end reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and updating engineering drawings and project bill of materials.
- Help prepare detailed construction and design estimates.
- Maintain project files and correspondence while liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or technical college program for Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or Architecture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts as required.
- Experience in the construction industry, as well as knowledge of AutoCAD or Bluebeam, are considered assets.
Location & details#
- Location: Montreal, Quebec.
- Compensation: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
