About the role#
Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Co-op Project Coordinator to support the KPC division in Ajax, Ontario. This role provides hands-on experience in utility construction project management and coordination. The position is a full-time, paid co-op opportunity with a duration of 8 to 16 months.
What you'll do#
- Support the Project Manager with daily project coordination and on-site activities.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project files on shared servers and ensure document control systems remain accurate.
- Track and log project documentation, including RFIs, reports, and general correspondence.
- Schedule and attend project meetings, including the preparation of meeting minutes.
- Generate, log, and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Assist in the preparation of Operations and Maintenance manuals and quality assurance documentation.
- Track and summarize site hours to align with project reporting requirements.
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies and safe work practices.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a 2-year technician program, a 3-year technologist program, or a 2nd or 3rd-year Electrical Engineering degree.
- A demonstrated interest in the electrical utility sector.
- Understanding of project coordination concepts, including scheduling, documentation control, and change management.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Ability to work independently and accurately in an environment that requires multitasking.
- Comfort working in both office and field settings.
