Project Coordinator, Co-op (KPC)

About the role#

Aecon Utilities is seeking a Project Coordinator Co-op to support K.P.C. Power Electrical Ltd. in Ajax, Ontario. This role offers hands-on experience in utility construction project management and administration for a duration of 8 to 16 months. You will report to the General Manager and work in both office and field environments.

What you'll do#

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination and on-site activities.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including setting up project folders and templates.
• Track, log, and manage project documents such as RFIs, reports, and general correspondence.
• Schedule, attend, and record minutes for project meetings and conference calls.
• Support the preparation and tracking of change notices and change orders.
• Assist in preparing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and Quality Assurance documentation.
• Track and summarize site hours to align with project reporting requirements.
• Ensure all activities comply with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a 2-year Technician program, 3-year Technologist program, or an Electrical Engineering degree (2nd or 3rd year).
• A demonstrated interest in the electrical utility sector.
• Understanding of project coordination concepts, including scheduling, documentation control, and change management.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project. Experience with Hard Dollar or SAP is considered an asset.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.
