Co-op Engineering Student

About the role#

Aecon is seeking Engineering Co-op students for the Civil West division. These site-based, full-time positions provide hands-on experience in heavy civil construction, focusing on project management, resource allocation, scheduling, and cost control.

What you'll do#

• Conduct site audits and analysis, preparing regular reports for project staff and stakeholders.
• Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with daily operations.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor project progress and assist in the creation of job cost reports for management.
• Provide technical support to field staff, craft workers, and subcontractors.
• Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of engineering drawings and design estimates.
• Gather field information and prepare project bills of materials.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a university or technical college program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including day and night shifts as required.
• Experience in the construction industry and knowledge of AutoCAD or Bluebeam are considered assets.
