About the role#
Aecon is seeking Engineering Co-op students for the Civil West division. These site-based positions offer exposure to the daily management of heavy civil construction projects, including resource allocation, scheduling, and cost control.
What you'll do#
- Conduct site audits and analysis, providing daily, weekly, and monthly reports to project staff and stakeholders.
- Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with daily tasks.
- Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to maximize operational efficiency.
- Monitor project progress and assist in preparing job cost reports for management.
- Provide technical support to field staff, craft, and subcontractors.
- Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings and maintain project files.
- Prepare, review, and maintain engineering drawings and project bill of materials.
- Assist in the preparation of construction and design estimates.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university or technical college program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
- Beginner knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam is an asset.
- Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules, including day and night shifts, to meet deadlines.
