About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in both the office and the field. You will join multidisciplinary teams in the Transportation and Urban Transportation divisions to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects. The role is a full-time, paid position based in Vancouver for either a 4 or 8 month term starting in Winter or Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop designs from conceptual to detailed stages.
- Conduct field inspections before and during construction activities.
- Coordinate tasks between design, construction, and owner teams.
- Help deliver projects on-schedule and on-budget.
- Meet and exceed quality control and safety standards.
- Participate in safety practices to ensure teams work safely.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Diploma or Degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Clear communication skills, sound judgment, and excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in varied environmental conditions, including remote areas, wildlife populated zones, and during varied hours.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software is an asset.
- Previous work experience in Civil Engineering or Construction is an asset.
