About the role#
This Structural Engineering Student role provides hands-on experience on real projects. You will support our structural engineering teams by preparing drawings, performing calculations, and participating in field work. This position is based in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing structural drawings and details using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Support structural analysis and design calculations for steel, concrete, and wood structures.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and field reviews.
- Contribute to technical documentation and engineering reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Help improve design processes, tools, and standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Civil or Structural Engineering program, 3rd year or higher.
- Strong academic foundation in structural mechanics and design.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, S-Frame, SAP2000, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with NBCC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, or related design codes is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
