About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in both the office and the field. You will work within our Transportation and Urban Transportation divisions alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams. Interns assist with project delivery from initial design to final construction, gaining skills to solve real-world problems. We offer 4 or 8-month terms starting in Winter or Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to develop designs from conceptual to detailed stages using software like Civil 3D.
- Conduct field inspections before and during construction activities.
- Coordinate tasks between design, construction, and owner teams.
- Help deliver projects on-schedule and on-budget.
- Meet and exceed quality control and safety standards.
- Participate in safety practices to ensure all team members work safely.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Diploma or Degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software.
- Previous work experience in Civil Engineering or Construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including remote areas, wildlife-populated locations, and irregular hours.
Location & details#
- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Availability: Must be within a commutable distance to the Vancouver office.
- Compensation: $23-$32 per hour.
