    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience in both the field and office. You will work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to apply your academic knowledge and assist with project delivery from design through construction. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term based in Fort St John, British Columbia.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to develop designs from conceptual to detailed stages using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Conduct field inspections for infrastructure construction and liaise with contractors on client sites.
    • Support the team in meeting project schedules, budgets, quality control, and safety standards.
    • Perform materials testing, including proctors and sieves, and operate a nuclear densometer to confirm compaction testing.
    • Support survey crews in collecting topographic, legal, or other spatial data.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Diploma or Degree program in Civil Engineering.
    • Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear communication skills.
    • Willingness to work in varied environmental conditions, including wildlife-populated or remote areas for extended periods and varied hours.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or related software is an asset.
    • Previous work experience in Civil Engineering or Construction is an asset.
