About the role#
Join our internship program starting in May 2027 to gain hands-on experience in both field and office settings. You will work with multidisciplinary teams in our Fort St John branch, supporting various Land Surveying and Geomatics projects. This position provides the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world problems while working alongside experienced mentors.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the use of GNSS receivers, total stations, and digital levels.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare files, plans, maps, field notes, and survey data.
- Research plans, titles, documents, and related geospatial information.
- Maintain, clean, monitor, and report the condition of equipment and vehicles.
- Work in both office and field environments.
- Learn about and operate emerging technologies, including RPAS, 3D laser scanning, and reality capture tools.
- Participate in our safety practices to ensure project delivery.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Diploma or Degree program in Geomatics.
- Ability to work in outdoor settings, including wilderness or backcountry environments for extended periods with varied hours.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work out of town.
- Ability to work on busy sites with varied terrain and lift heavy equipment.
- Attention to detail, good judgement, and clear communication skills.
- Modern technical aptitude.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
- Previous work experience in outdoor environments and an interest in advanced reality capture, GIS, or geospatial technologies are considered assets.
