About the role#
Hatch is seeking a motivated Structural Designer Student to join the Project Delivery Group for the Summer 2027 term. You will report to the Structural discipline lead Engineer and work from our office in Mississauga. This role offers the chance to apply your academic learning to real projects while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Produce and maintain technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Support conceptual layout work and develop design details.
- Perform clash detection and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Participate in formal design review processes.
- Verify site conditions and dimensions as needed.
- Incorporate safety considerations into your design work.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited technical College program specializing in Civil or Structural design.
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D structural design and drawing software.
- A basic understanding of industry standards, regulations, and codes related to structural design.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A motivated mindset with an interest in growing your technical skills.
- A commitment to safety.
