About the role#
WSP is hiring a Construction Management Intern for our Chicago office. This is a full-time, paid summer internship. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to gain hands-on experience and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to develop your technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of construction engineering.
- Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare cost estimates, special provisions, and final design plans.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct, regarding resources and ethical decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for Construction Engineering or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2028 or later.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A strong interest in construction engineering and a desire to build your professional skills.
- Basic proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, and technical writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A track record of prioritizing workplace safety and following health and safety policies.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
