About the role#
We are looking for a Structural Design Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our Mobility business area to support infrastructure projects. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position. You will work alongside technical professionals to gain hands-on experience and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Create structural designs for various infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with and receive mentorship from experienced technical professionals.
- Convey technical information to team members across different disciplines.
- Manage multiple unique project assignments at the same time.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Educational background or prior experience in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with CADD software such as Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD and ODOT bridge design policies and procedures.
- Experience with structural engineering software like LEAP Bridge (CONSPAN and RCPier), Midas Civil, RISA 3-D, Merlin-Dash, or MathCAD.
- Prior internship or related work experience.

This role is based on-site in one of our Ohio offices: Akron, Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati. We do not provide sponsorship for this position.
