About the role#
Arcadis is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in Chicago, this role supports the water and wastewater team in developing sustainable solutions for water quality, scarcity, and management. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects involving treatment and conveyance systems while building your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project evaluation, planning, and design activities.
- Support the development of sustainability and resilience projects.
- Participate in fieldwork, including site visits, sampling, and water quality analyses.
- Contribute to asset management projects and utilize data analytics.
- Prepare reports and presentations for client meetings.
- Manage databases, SQL server, and cloud-based computing services.
- Configure interactive dashboards and use digital tools like Power BI and SharePoint.
- Ensure project work meets company standards and health and safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or Revit.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to take on new projects and challenges.
- Prior internship or work experience in a design, consulting, or municipal engineering environment is preferred.
