About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in both the office and the field. You will work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project delivery from design to construction. This is a full-time, paid summer position starting in May 2027 based in Fort St John, British Columbia.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to develop designs from conceptual to detailed stages.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D for multidisciplinary projects.
- Conduct field inspections for infrastructure construction and liaise with contractors on client sites.
- Ensure project schedules, budgets, quality control, and safety standards are met.
- Perform proctors and sieves, and operate a nuclear densometer for materials testing.
- Support survey crews in collecting topographic, legal, or other spatial data.
- Participate in safety practices to ensure team and site well-being.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Diploma or Degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear communication skills.
- Willingness to work in varied environmental conditions, including remote areas and locations with wildlife.
- Ability to work extended periods and varied hours as needed.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or related software is an asset.
- Previous work experience in Civil Engineering or Construction is an asset.
