    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term, beginning in January 2027. You will work within the Municipal Engineering division in Surrey, British Columbia, gaining hands-on experience in both office design and field construction. This role is on-site and involves working with multidisciplinary teams to support infrastructure projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop designs from conceptual to detailed stages.
    • Conduct field inspections for infrastructure construction and communicate directly with contractors on client sites.
    • Help the team monitor schedules, budgets, quality control, and safety standards.
    • Gain exposure to various services including materials testing, construction management, water resources, and structural engineering.
    • Participate in safety practices to ensure project standards are met.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Diploma or Degree program in Civil Engineering.
    • Clear communication skills, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including remote areas and wildlife-populated locations for extended periods.
    • Ability to commute to Surrey, BC.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or related software is an asset.

    • Term: 4 months, starting January 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $23 to $32 per hour.
