About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Structural Engineering Student for a 4-month co-op term starting in January 2027. Based in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office, you will support the structural discipline by assisting engineers and technologists with project delivery for energy and industrial clients.
What you'll do#
- Provide review, analysis, and design support.
- Research materials for engineers and technologists.
- Prepare engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoffs, literature reviews, technical specifications, and reports.
- Use CAD tools for 2D drawing and 3D model reviews.
- Support progress reporting and the assessment of ongoing engineering tasks.
- Interface with staff to support project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a 3rd or 4th year student in a Civil Engineering degree program.
- Successful completion of or current enrollment in structural engineering courses.
- A specific interest in structural analysis and design.
- Familiarity with CAD and design software, such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation, or AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills.
- A high regard for job safety and quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Extracurricular involvement and an enthusiastic, ambitious approach.
- Submission of an official or unofficial transcript with your application.
