About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Civil Engineering student to join the Aviation Group for a Winter 2027 internship in Vancouver. You will work alongside professional engineers and designers on infrastructure projects, acting as a technical resource while receiving mentorship. This role involves both office-based design work and on-site field reviews at airport locations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with project engineers on drafting and design deliverables.
- Support the design and layout of airfield infrastructure and utility routing.
- Conduct desk studies, survey data reviews, and various design assignments.
- Perform on-site field reviews, which may involve night shifts and monitoring construction against drawings.
- Prepare field review logs, design reports, and design drawings.
- Assist with quantity take-offs for cost estimation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 4th-year student in an accredited Civil Engineering co-op program.
- Good academic standing.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- A Class 5 driver's license.
- A valid passport to support security clearance applications.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
