Co-op, Assistant Coordinator, Estimating

About the role#

This is an 8-month, full-time paid co-op opportunity for the Summer 2026 term. You will support the civil east team in the proposal and estimating process for heavy civil projects, including roads, bridges, airports, and hydro power dams. You will receive mentorship from Senior and Chief Estimators regarding construction approaches and project bidding.

What you'll do#

• Perform quantity takeoffs and update estimate software with quantities.
• Assist with database analysis, subcontractor and vendor solicitation, and quote comparisons.
• Prepare portions of project estimates using Hard Dollar Estimating software.
• Develop project schedules using Primavera P6 software.
• Participate in the design-build process and collaborate with design teams.
• Assist with project execution tasks and prepare handover documentation for site teams upon successful bids.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a university or technical college diploma program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
• Strong attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively within a team.

• Pay Range: $23 - $28 per hour.
