About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Summer 2026 term. You will support the estimating team on heavy civil projects, including roads, bridges, airports, and hydro power dams. The role involves working on private client proposals, design-build, and bid-build projects.
What you'll do#
- Receive mentorship from Senior and Chief Estimators regarding construction approaches and project bidding.
- Assist with proposal preparation, including quantity takeoffs, database analysis, and subcontractor or vendor quote comparisons.
- Enter data and quotes into estimating software.
- Collaborate with design teams during the design-build process.
- Prepare portions of project estimates using Hard Dollar Estimating software.
- Create project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software.
- Prepare handover documents for site teams following successful bids.
- Support general project execution tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or technical college program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with databases and Primavera P6 is considered an asset.

- Compensation: $23 to $28 per hour, determined by factors including education, experience, and skills.
