About the role#
Aecon Utilities is seeking a Project Technician Co-op to support the design and delivery of infrastructure projects. You will work within the Aecon Utility Engineer team to produce permit-ready packages, construction sets, and as-builts. This role focuses on integrating quality management into utility projects while collaborating with clients, contractors, and field staff.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design calculations and drawings, ensuring all work meets relevant codes and regulations.
- Support the preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and construction packages.
- Participate in site visits and surveys to collect project data.
- Prepare status reports for active and completed design projects.
- Contribute to technical reports for clients and project teams.
- Use design software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation to support project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- An interest in utility design and construction.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD. Experience with MicroStation or 3D design tools is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to travel for site visits as required. A valid driver's license is preferred.

- Compensation: $22 to $25 per hour.
