About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student Technical Analyst for an 8 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role is based in Mississauga, Ontario. You will manage your own area of responsibility while receiving support from a supervisor and a technical mentor. You will work primarily during established hours between 6:00 AM CT and 6:00 PM CT, with the possibility of rotating after-hours on-call support.
What you'll do#
- Perform level one troubleshooting and repair for end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desk phones, and printers.
- Fulfill service requests such as granting network drive access, managing distribution lists, and handling account creation or modifications.
- Document processes, procedures, and knowledge base articles to maintain a repository of technical resources.
- Support team collaboration by assisting peers, directing unresolved issues to the next level of support, and suggesting procedure improvements.
- Maintain an inventory of installed hardware and software to ensure accurate tracking and license compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
- Residency or a valid work permit for Canada.
- Ability to lead and operate in environments where change happens frequently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical or alcohol and drug testing if required by specific client needs.
