Student Project Coordinator - Industrial West

About the role#

Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for a four-month internship starting in September 2026. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience on active construction projects. You will manage specific areas of responsibility with the support of an assigned supervisor and technical mentor.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate project drawings and manage specific scopes of work and trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions against drawings.
• Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate with on-site teams.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate record-keeping.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update logs, issue warranties, and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings, produce as-built drawings, and layout site lines using total station.
• Assist with scheduling by updating project timelines, monitoring manpower productivity, and gathering information from sub-trades.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to lead and operate effectively in an environment with frequent changes.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to forge and maintain positive professional relationships.
• A valid work permit allowing employment with Bird Construction or its subsidiaries.
