About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student HSE Coordinator for a co-op position starting in September 2026. This role is designed to provide you with a business-relevant project where you will independently manage an area of responsibility while receiving guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Support site supervision with the implementation and management of the Bird Safety Program.
- Participate in regularly scheduled health and safety inspections of the workplace and document findings.
- Work with project management to ensure trade contractors comply with the Bird Construction HSE program and regulatory requirements.
- Provide site-specific orientations to new workers and visitors.
- Maintain safety statistics and records while monitoring accident frequencies and safety violations.
- Assist with the development of site-specific safe work practices, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
- Lead or participate in safety meetings and provide first aid assessment and treatment as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Health, Safety, and Environment diploma or equivalent program.
- Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to lead and operate in an environment where change happens frequently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to forge and maintain positive relationships and work collaboratively.
- Valid residency or a work permit allowing employment with Bird Construction.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.

- Location: Regina, Saskatchewan.
- Term: Fall 2026 (4 or 8 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
