About the role#
As a Student Analyst in Business Performance and Analytics, you will support BDC managers and executives by turning data into business insights. You will work at the intersection of data analysis, business intelligence, and financial performance. This role involves maintaining analytical models, building Power BI dashboards, and creating performance measurement tools for business lines like Financing, Growth and Transition Capital, and Advisory Services. You will analyze data from loan portfolios, authorization volumes, and operational performance indicators to help guide strategic decisions.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and rollout of business line performance scorecards.
- Extract, validate, and organize data from internal and external sources.
- Use SQL, Azure Databricks, Power BI, and Excel to build and improve reporting solutions.
- Prepare analysis on productivity, efficiency, costs, and profitability.
- Collaborate with operation support teams to understand performance objectives.
- Support cost allocation and loan-level profitability analysis.
- Contribute to the maintenance of data models to ensure financial accuracy.
- Stay curious about data sources and share ideas to improve team processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program related to business intelligence, data analysis, finance, information technology, or mathematics.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data modelling and reporting tools like Power BI, Azure Databricks, and Excel.
- Ability to organize information, gather requirements from stakeholders, and communicate findings clearly.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate analysis.
- Good oral and written communication skills in both English and French.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Interest in performance analytics, mathematics, and banking operations.
- Previous experience in banking, financial services, or risk management is an asset.
