About the role#
The Student Security Administrator role involves supporting the security operations team through asset management, policy development, and risk assessment. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information securely.
What you'll do#
- Assist with asset management tracking and inventory control.
- Itemize documents and establish a naming and control system.
- Monitor security systems and logs to identify potential threats or unauthorized access.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments of networks and applications to help implement necessary controls.
- Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Collect security metrics and prepare reports to maintain documentation on security processes.
- Collaborate on security projects, including tool implementation and solution design.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with SharePoint is considered an asset.
- Enrollment in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Administration, Political Science, or Communications.
