About the role#
The Student Security Administrator role involves supporting security operations through asset management, policy development, and system monitoring. You will gain exposure to both physical and digital security tasks while working on projects that protect company infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assist with asset management tracking.
- Itemize documents and create a naming and control system.
- Monitor security systems and logs to detect potential threats or unauthorized access attempts.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments of applications or networks and help implement controls.
- Assist in the development, review, testing, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Collaborate on security-related projects, including implementing new tools and managing project coordination.
- Collect security metrics, prepare reports, and maintain documentation for security assets and processes.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with SharePoint is considered an asset.
- Enrollment in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Administration, Political Science, or Communications.
