Project Coordinator, Co-op

About the role#

Aecon Utilities is seeking a Project Coordinator Co-op for a 12-month term. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role supports administrative and coordination tasks for underground utility construction projects. This position provides hands-on experience in construction management and engineering within the civil and electrical utility sectors.

What you'll do#

• Support the Project Manager with daily project coordination and on-site activities.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, reports, and correspondence.
• Assist with project start-up tasks, such as setting up folders and templates.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility owners.
• Schedule meetings, record minutes, and track site hours.
• Assist with cost tracking, job costing, and the preparation of monthly reports.
• Ensure project files are current and comply with company policies and safety practices.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a technical diploma or engineering degree program, specifically in Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Construction fields.
• An interest in the civil or electrical utility sector.
• Understanding of project coordination concepts, including scheduling, documentation control, and change management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
