About the role#
Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Project Coordinator for a 12-month co-op term based in Scarborough, Ontario. This role supports the Project Manager with underground utility construction projects, providing hands-on experience in construction management and engineering coordination. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Support the Project Manager with daily project coordination and on-site activities.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate project documentation, including project folders, templates, and records.
- Track, log, and manage project documentation such as RFIs, reports, and general correspondence.
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility owners.
- Schedule and attend project meetings, taking minutes and tracking action items.
- Assist with cost tracking, job costing, and the preparation of monthly reports.
- Ensure all project activities comply with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical diploma or engineering degree program, specifically in Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering.
- A strong interest in the civil or electrical utility sector.
- A foundational understanding of project coordination concepts, including scheduling, documentation control, and change management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
