Co-op, Assistant Coordinator, BIM

About the role#

Aecon is seeking an Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) Co-op to support the Urban Transportation Solutions group on transit projects. This is a full-time, paid co-op position starting in September 2026 for a duration of 8-12 months.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the setup, maintenance, and management of Common Data Environments (CDE) for project teams.
• Support the creation, validation, and coordination of 3D BIM models for design, planning, and construction.
• Participate in clash detection, issue tracking, and model quality assurance activities.
• Prepare and organize project documentation, including model content plans, LOD matrices, and dashboards.
• Contribute to digital design validation, quantity take-off, and reporting using BIM tools.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate information exchange and digital workflows.
• Support the integration of geospatial data, survey information, and technical drawings into federated BIM models.
• Attend coordination meetings, track action items, and assist with training sessions on BIM and IDD tools.
• Maintain records of model revisions, approvals, and deliverables according to company standards.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of BIM concepts, digital design, and construction processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new digital tools and workflows.
• Familiarity with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or Civil 3D is an asset.

• Pay Range: $23 - $28 per hour.
