John Deere internships on Intern Insider come in two forms. Full-time intern roles cover engineering, marketing and sales, human resources, and supply management. Part-time student roles run year-round alongside classes. When this guide was written, the John Deere page listed 57 open internships. This guide links 19 of them, all with a rolling or Summer 2027 label and all asking for current enrollment. It leaves out the 15 labeled Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.
John Deere internships on Intern Insider#
John Deere makes machinery for agriculture, construction, forestry, and turf care. The company page gives its founding year as 1837, its headquarters as Moline, Illinois, and its size as 10,001 or more employees.
All 57 open listings are on-site. The page groups 13 under Waterloo, Iowa, and 10 under Moline, Illinois. East Moline, Cary in North Carolina, Fargo in North Dakota, Dubuque, Ames, Champaign, and Greeneville in Tennessee follow with smaller counts. Of the 57, 40 are labeled rolling, 14 Summer 2026, two Summer 2027, and one Fall 2026.
Intern Insider shows a recommended apply-by window on each listing. That window is not an employer deadline, so this guide does not print any of them. Recheck the posting on the day you apply.
John Deere engineering internships#
The full-time engineering internships share one description. Deere describes its Engineering Internship Program as targeted at college students, with experience in Product, Factory, and Weld Engineering. The same posting asks for current enrollment in a degree program in ag, computer, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering or a related field. It also asks for a 2.8 cumulative GPA, a previous internship, co-op, or project-focused research experience, and willingness to relocate within the United States. Sites are in the Midwest and Southeast.
Four full-time engineering listings are open on Intern Insider:
Intern - Engineering - Weld is on-site in Illinois and rolling.
Intern - Manufacturing Engineering is on-site in Iowa and rolling.
Intern - Product Engineering is based in Illinois with opportunities across the Midwest and Southeast. The posting says work may be on-site or remote, depending on the assignment.
Intern - Electrification Engineering is the one engineering listing labeled Summer 2027. It lasts about 12 weeks and asks for electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering students who will have completed their junior year by the start date. Locations are Fargo, North Dakota, and Cary, North Carolina.
The weld, manufacturing, and electrification postings each state that visa sponsorship is not available.
See the mechanical engineering internships guide. The mechanical engineering page listed 952 open roles, and the machinery manufacturing industry page listed 671.
Part-time student roles#
The part-time student postings are the largest group. All of the ones linked here are paid and on-site. The common pattern in the postings is 16 to 20 hours a week during the school year and 30 to 40 hours in the summer. A few state 10 to 20 hours in the school year. Each asks for full-time enrollment, a 2.8 GPA, and a graduation date of 2027 or later. The exact graduation date differs by posting, so read it before you apply. Several say the role is not available to students on immigration visas.

Listings this guide does not link#
The 15 labeled Summer 2026 or Fall 2026 stay on the John Deere page. They include part-time roles in data science, quality engineering, industrial engineering, environmental engineering, cost accounting, and software, plus a Fall 2026 logistics role in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. Those terms have started or passed.
Who can apply#
Eligibility below is only what the postings state. The full-time engineering postings ask for a bachelor or master degree in progress and a 2.8 GPA. The human resources internship and the supply management internship ask for 3.0. The two marketing and sales internships ask for a valid U.S. driver license, and the A&T posting lists a minimum age of 18. Several of the full-time postings also ask you to relocate within the United States for the internship.
The part-time postings add a daily commute, so most name a local university or a nearby site. Examples are the Quad Cities area for the Moline seeding group role and a commute to Ames, Iowa, for the spray lab role. None of the linked postings asks for a completed degree.
When and how to apply#
Most part-time listings are labeled rolling. Postings can close, so apply early and recheck the John Deere page before you start. See when internship postings close. Use the posting for each role to find the official application. Deere posts its own openings on jobs.deere.com.
The part-time postings repeat the same needs: Excel and Microsoft Office for business roles, CAD for engineering roles, Python or C for software roles, and the ability to commute to the site daily. See when summer 2027 applications open and the Summer 2027 internships page.
Pay#
All 19 linked listings are marked paid. None of the postings this guide checked states an hourly rate or a salary, so this guide does not give a number.
