About the role#
As a Part-Time Student Worker System Test Engineer, you will contribute to the development of safe and reliable autonomous driving software. This role involves working directly with engineering teams to oversee test plans, develop simulation processes, and manage triage pipelines for both offline and on-vehicle testing. You will gain hands-on experience by participating in in-vehicle testing missions and identifying failure modes to ensure software stability.
What you'll do#
- Create test strategies and test plans for self-driving behavior features.
- Identify, track, report, and resolve issues related to test strategy, planning, or implementation.
- Propose, prototype, and validate new testing methodologies for driving software.
- Design, develop, and execute synthetic and log-based test scenarios using an in-house simulation framework.
- Compile triage strategies and results from various QA validation platforms.
- Lead cross-functional QA participation in testing pipelines and initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable software systems test strategies.
- Proficiency with automated test frameworks and test automation.
- Experience with JIRA, GIT, the Linux command line, and Python or other scripting languages.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

- Location: Foster City, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Minimum 40 hours per week for at least 6 months.
- Compensation: $30 per hour.
- Employment type: Contract position through a third-party vendor.
