About the role#
As an Analytical Development Intern, you will work with project teams to improve analytical methods and streamline existing assays. You will gain hands-on experience with vaccine products, apply flow cytometry to project and regulatory requirements, and collaborate with partner groups to refine assay design and transfer protocols.
What you'll do#
- Operate and troubleshoot flow cytometers, including determining voltages and acquisition settings.
- Perform compensation, develop gating strategies, and analyze data using FlowJo.
- Design and optimize fit-for-purpose assays by identifying critical variables and using iterative, data-driven improvements.
- Grow and manage vaccine strains using aseptic techniques and tissue-culture methods.
- Enumerate cultures and assess antigen abundance to evaluate how growth conditions affect quality.
- Write clear protocols, document assay limitations, and train non-expert partners on new methods.
- Present findings and scientific rationales to technical and non-technical audiences to support project goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MS program or graduation from an MS program with plans to enter a PhD program in the fall.
- Education in a life science field.
- Proficiency in flow cytometry and data analysis.
- Familiarity with tissue culture and sterile techniques.
- Self-motivation and an interest in solving real-world vaccine analysis problems.

- The position is full-time and on-site.
- This is a paid internship.
