About the role#
Zoetis is looking for a summer intern to join the interdisciplinary vaccine team within our Global Biologics group. This role focuses on the evaluation and tailoring of liposomal formulations. You will work alongside experienced scientists to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation and veterinary medicine while contributing to research projects.
What you'll do#
- Design, characterize, and evaluate novel liposomal delivery systems.
- Use molecular assays to characterize nucleic acid and protein moieties.
- Maintain cell cultures and conduct in-vitro cell assays.
- Assist the team with formulation, purification, and experimental design.
- Collaborate on data analysis and report preparation.
- Support ongoing projects within the vaccine team.
What you'll need#
- A strong foundation in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering (including Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or Chemical Engineering).
- Experience with tissue culture and cell line manipulation.
- Proficiency with PCR/RT-qPCR, DNA/RNA isolation, and in vitro transcription.
- Knowledge of RNA expression control and molecular design.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Skills in SDS-PAGE and western blot are a plus.

- Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Paid position based on degree level. Hourly rates for this location are $16.00 (Associate), $22.00 (Undergraduate), $32.50 (Graduate), and $36.00 (Doctorate).
