About the role#
This co-op position is within the Process Modeling and Control group at Sanofi. You will join a team focused on developing advanced process modeling and technologies, such as digital twins and process analytical technology, to monitor and control manufacturing operations. This role involves working across R&D and manufacturing departments to provide technical and process engineering expertise.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and develop hybrid modeling techniques to improve the understanding of cell culture processes.
- Use simulations and process data to identify atypical results.
- Test the capabilities of a simulation platform and user interface for new use cases.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers who have complementary skill sets.
- Generate presentations, user guides, and reports to document your findings and achievements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, for the full duration of the internship.
- Knowledge of computer programming concepts, with a preference for Python.
- Understanding of basic chemical reaction mechanisms, empirical equations, and cell growth or metabolism.
- Experience with scientific literature searches.
- Familiarity with mechanistic, statistical, or machine learning techniques is preferred.
