About the role#
This is a six-month, full-time co-op position within the Neurology Therapeutic Area team. You will work on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, supporting Parkinson's disease research. You will work alongside scientists to support in vitro and in vivo studies, gaining exposure to the drug development process from target identification to lead optimization.
What you'll do#
- Perform mammalian cell culture, including iPSC-derived neuron and glia techniques.
- Execute molecular and biochemical assays, including ELISA, MSD immunoassays, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, and RT-qPCR.
- Assist with in vivo mouse studies, including animal handling, basic dosing procedures, tissue collection, and sample processing.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records and documentation while following established protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on individual and group research projects.
- Contribute to experimental design discussions and data documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a master or PhD degree in biomedical, life sciences, or a related field.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op.
- Proven proficiency in mammalian cell culture, including iPSC-derived neuron and glia culture.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with both in vitro and in vivo studies.
- Experience with standard molecular and biochemical assays such as ELISA, MSD immunoassays, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, and RT-qPCR.
- Experience with in vivo mouse handling, basic dosing procedures, and tissue collection.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to scientific rigor.
- Prior experience in a research laboratory setting.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
- Compensation: $45 - $57 per hour.
- Requirements: Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship. You must be able to relocate to the office location.
