About the role#
The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern will support EHS programs for the Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD) team. You will work to ensure the site operates in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies. The goal of these programs is to maintain a safe workplace for employees and guests while minimizing the impact of operations on the surrounding community.
What you'll do#
- Assist with hazard and risk assessments for materials, equipment, and work processes.
- Contribute to initiatives that support safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability goals.
- Support EHS programs within VMRD, including chemical, biological, radiological, and construction safety.
- Help manage environmental compliance tasks related to air, water, and waste.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related field, such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, chemistry, biology, or biochemistry.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- This position is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
