About the role#
As a Gas Modeling Intern, you will work with the Integrated Model Innovation team to support the build and verification of gas hydraulic models. You will help maintain the tools, programs, and data sets used for gas emergency response, operations, and system planning. This role provides practical experience in utility planning and enterprise data management.
What you'll do#
- Perform gas model development, verification, and analysis using Synergi Gas or similar software.
- Develop documentation and assist with the creation of modeling procedures and training materials.
- Build technical skills in gas system modeling and data management while investigating model discrepancies.
- Explore and implement new processes or automation tools to improve model accuracy, usability, and traceability.
What you'll need#
- Current student at an ABET accredited university with Junior standing or higher as of Fall 2027.
- Pursuing a degree in Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Course experience in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, or gas systems.
- Strong data management and analysis skills, including experience with scripting or building automations.
- Familiarity with Synergi Gas or similar hydraulic modeling software.
Location & details#
- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting May 31, 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $21.20 to $24.60 per hour.
