About the role#
Xcel Energy is seeking interns for the Product Planning and Strategy team within the Customer Energy and Transportation Solutions organization. This paid position involves work on analytical projects related to the planning, evaluation, and regulatory reporting of demand-side management programs. You will work alongside technical consultants to assess the financial performance and cost-effectiveness of energy programs for Northern States Power-Minnesota and Public Service Company.
What you'll do#
- Support cost-benefit and financial analysis for demand-side management programs.
- Assist in preparing analytical documentation for regulatory filings, including support for South Dakota filings.
- Maintain and improve existing cost-effectiveness models, tools, and business processes.
- Analyze data related to program performance and incentives to identify trends.
- Create dashboards and reporting solutions to improve visibility into program performance.
- Recommend process improvements to increase analytical efficiency.
- Present your findings, insights, and recommendations to business leadership and technical consultants.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Statistics, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Ability to commute to the office for in-person work.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework is preferred.
- Experience or proficiency with data analytics tools is preferred.
