About the role#
This Business Intern position focuses on expanding Xcel Energy’s presence in downtown Fargo. You will help increase support for local economic development and strengthen the company brand. The role involves developing a platform for a Clean Energy educational outreach center and increasing investment in the Downtown Community Partnership. This is a paid position starting May 24, 2027, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the downtown Fargo operation alongside the local Service Center staff.
- Work with economic and community development leaders to support downtown growth.
- Manage stakeholder outreach and community impact projects related to clean energy initiatives.
- Develop programs and outreach materials to advance company goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Computer Science.
- Ability to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer and part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the school year.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with database development.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and community stakeholders.
Location & details#
- Location: Fargo, North Dakota.
- Modality: Hybrid and on-site. You must be able to commute to the office in person.
- Employment: Full-time during the summer term. There is a possibility to extend beyond the initial term based on performance and business needs.
