About the role#
As a Data Scientist Intern, you will support the ISP team in designing and optimizing business processes and data flows within the Databricks and XDF architecture. This role balances front-end user-facing work with back-end data engineering and analytics development. You will contribute to various projects, including model development, ETL workflows, application building, and cost analysis. You will also collaborate with teams across Resource Planning, Electric Distribution, Transmission, and Gas to deliver data-driven solutions.
What you'll do#
- Deliver analytics projects under the guidance of senior team members.
- Learn the business domain while building technical expertise.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Develop data products using Databricks.
- Use Python, SQL, Git, and cloud-based analytics tools.
- Support ad hoc analytics and modeling initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Analytics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems.
- Ability to commute to the office for a hybrid work schedule.
- Availability to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer and part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the school year.
- Experience with Python, PyTorch, and PySpark.
- Preferred coursework includes Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, Data Structures, Algorithms, Database Systems, Data Engineering, Cloud Computing, Optimization, Time Series Analysis, and Predictive Analytics.

- Compensation: $22.10 to $27.90 per hour.
