About the role#
This internship provides exposure to insurance solutions for large customer and membership bases, including banks, credit unions, and retailers. You will work with senior actuarial personnel to support insurance consulting teams across various business lines such as credit card, travel, home, and auto insurance. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and reconcile data for actuarial analysis.
- Develop and maintain key models.
- Assist with pricing, loss reserving, financial modeling, forecasts, and benchmarking.
- Produce reports, presentations, and summary analyses for consulting mandates.
- Streamline processes to increase efficiency.
- Conduct research for new client prospects.
What you'll need#
- Progressing through a university degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- Active pursuit of an actuarial designation.
- Experience manipulating and summarizing large data sets using R, Python, SQL, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Note: Candidates must not be students at Université Laval, Université de Montréal, or Université du Québec à Montréal.

- Compensation: $30.00 to $35.00 CAD per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.
