About the role#
As a Health and Benefits Intern, you will work with consultants to help large and mid-size organizations manage benefit costs and improve employee health outcomes. You will gain experience with real client assignments, including plan design, pricing, and data analysis. This role offers the opportunity to build technical knowledge and industry expertise while contributing to programs that impact employers and their employees.
What you'll do#
- Support clients with benefit plan analysis, design, cost savings, and benchmarking.
- Perform detailed calculations throughout the benefit renewal process, such as premiums and reserves.
- Assist with pricing, employee contribution strategies, and insurer negotiations.
- Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts.
- Evaluate responses to surveys and RFPs.
- Partner with consultants to provide support on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics, finance, actuarial science, business administration, health administration, or another major with significant quantitative course work.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and cooperatively within a team.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required to serve our clientele.
- For actuarial students, successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid hybrid position based in Montréal, Quebec.
- You will be expected to work from the office 1-2 days per week.
- Internship terms are available for Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027.
