About the role#
As an actuarial intern in the Property and Casualty division, you will join a team focused on complex projects such as pricing, product development, reserving, and capital modeling. You will work alongside consultants to gain exposure to insurance operations while developing technical skills. This role offers the opportunity to apply university studies to real-world business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist with pricing and development for personal or commercial lines insurance products.
- Use predictive modeling techniques to improve risk segmentation.
- Perform loss reserve analyses and prepare actuarial reports.
- Learn to use proprietary software to complete assigned projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and client representatives.
- Document, review, and present your work while contributing to project plans.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to work legally in the United States indefinitely without visa sponsorship.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- This position is based in New York, New York.
- The role supports both remote and hybrid work modalities.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with an hourly rate of $36.00 to $41.00, depending on exam progress.
- The position is eligible for overtime pay and includes access to retirement benefits such as a 401k plan.
