About the role#
This internship provides direct exposure to retirement consulting. You will work with global organizations to design, fund, and manage retirement programs. Throughout the term, you will receive mentorship from a Lead Retirement Consultant and participate in a local training program. Interns are eligible for an actuarial exam study program, including paid study hours and exam coaching.
What you'll do#
- Partner with consultants to provide technical actuarial support.
- Perform actuarial pension valuations for various clients, including data analysis and determining plan liabilities.
- Assist with the completion of plan reporting and filing requirements.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs.
- Perform plan administrative tasks like benefit calculations and reviewing plan documents.
- Gain exposure to client assignments and meetings.
What you'll need#
- Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or business administration.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Previous work experience demonstrating technical or client service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Locations: Calgary, AB or Vancouver, BC.
- Terms available: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, or Fall 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $31.00 per hour CAD, with eligibility for overtime.
