About the role#
WSP is hiring a full-time Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This 12-week program allows you to work alongside senior staff in our Dallas office on real projects. You will build your technical, social, and ethical skills while gaining hands-on experience in the professional services industry.
What you'll do#
- Learn the basic principles of structural engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and follow all safety and conduct policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program in Civil, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, with a graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow direction from managers.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A proven track record of workplace safety.
- Preferred: Enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program, experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SAP, ETABS, or RISA, and prior internship or campus leadership experience.

- Term: Summer 2027 (starting May 17, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23.90 - $31.11 per hour.
