About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Atlanta, Georgia. You will join a project team within our Nuclear Power Group to assist with the design of new power plants and the modification of existing systems and structures. This role requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers and designers with structural analysis and design tasks for steel frames, concrete members, connections, foundations, and equipment supports.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
- Apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and steel and concrete design to real-world projects.
- Explore and use emerging technologies to support research and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Strong academic foundation in structural analysis, materials, steel design, concrete design, and foundation design.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is valued.
- Familiarity with software such as MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, GT STRUDL, or ANSYS is a plus.
