About the role#
Geosyntec Consultants is hiring an intern or co-op for our Acton, Massachusetts office. This is a full-time position for 13 to 15 weeks during the winter or summer of 2027. You will apply your academic knowledge of civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering to real-world projects. We prefer candidates who can return for future work terms during their studies.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering calculations using technical software.
- Write reports, letters, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Input and analyze data, including the preparation of maps, tables, and figures.
- Work with engineers, geologists, administrative staff, CADD designers, and contractors.
- Conduct fieldwork such as soil sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling or contractor monitoring.
- Drive personal, company, or rental vehicles to project sites and business locations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, or Geological Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A degree focus in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Hydrogeology, Geology, or Water Resources.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation.

- Compensation: $24.02 to $33.63 per hour.
