About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Elkridge, Maryland. You will join a project team to support the design of new electrical substations or upgrades to existing systems. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers to apply your academic knowledge to real-world infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor documentation.
- Perform structural analysis for steel structures, connections, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
- Solve engineering problems using data and modern tools such as automation and AI.
- Use programming or scripting skills to automate calculations, design checks, or data transformation.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- A strong academic background in structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundation design.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PC skills.
- Willingness to use automation and AI tools to improve workflows and design efficiency.

- Compensation: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour.
